- Introduction to Bridge, This eight-week class will meet Mon. and Wed. mornings at 10:30am beginning Sept. 8 or Mon. and Thurs. evenings at 6:30pm beginning Sept. 29. (This class is for beginners, so tell your friends/family.)
- Bid Better, Play Better. For those who have completed an intro course, the class will meet Tues. and Fri. at 10:30am for six weeks beginning Sept. 2.
- Polishing the Basics. An intermediate class on basic bidding, six weeks on Tues. afternoons at 1pm beginning Sept. 9 or Wed. evenings at 6:30pm beginning Sept. 10.
- Advanced Topics. Every Fri. at 1pm for 6 weeks beginning Sept. 12.

For those who are interested and able, there will be a Walk to End Alzheimer's on two dates in October. The Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. it will held at the Oceanside Pier on the afternoon of Oct. 4 and in Balboa Park on the morning of Oct. 8. There's always dinner and bridge at the Redwood facility on Saturday nights beginning at 5:30pm. Come join us this week for Shepard's Pie and Salad by Dave. (Please bring a side dish or dessert, if you can.) Dinner and bridge together are only $10. Such a deal!!
The club will be closed Saturday, July 19, due to the pride festival in Balboa Park. We will reopen on Monday, July 21 for our regular schedule.
On June 21, the summer solstice, Redwood Bridge Club and the San Diego Bridge Academy joined other groups around the country to participate in The Longest Day, a fundraising effort to support the Alzheimer's Association. Bridge is sometimes called aerobics for the mind, so Alzheimer's is a great cause for us to be involved in. Here are a few photos of the day's activities, which raised >$3,800.
