- Now's the Time - become a board member
- Holiday Party Dec. 7th
- Healthy Snacks
- Lounge Art Gallery
OK, you’ve had since the September newsletter to consider it. You KNOW you have a lot to offer the Redwood board of directors. Maybe you have non-profit, accounting, legal, or other experience? Redwood needs YOU!
Submit your name without delay to Jan Perdue (or any other board member). That way YOU will be in the running for one of the two vacant seats on the Redwood Board of Directors. Elections will be held Nov 30 – Dec 6.
The holiday party is being held 7 Dec 2019. The luncheon is free to members, $15 for guests. Regular fees apply to games after lunch.
Beginning in mid-November, members must sign up for both the luncheon and bridge games through the SDBA web site (preferred method), or, (for those without computers) on the sign-up sheet on club bulletin board.
Custodians clean a few times a week but need your help to keep our clubhouse tidy. Please:
Pick up what you drop and wipe up spills.
Prevention: leave a bit of space instead of filling your cup to the tippy top.
Report custodial or maintenance issues to your game director or any board member.
Leave our clubhouse the way you found it.
Many thanks to Ted Hazard and Nancy Lipton for contributing fruit and vegetables to the hospitality table. All were much appreciated by those seeking healthy snacks. Want to follow suit with excess from your gardens, trees, or, fruit bowl? Know that your produce will be well received.
LOUNGE ART GALLERY
We are fortunate several artists are willing to show their work for a month at a time. These works of art are available for purchase. Many of our members have bought art in the past. This benefits the artist, of course, plus we take a small percentage to add to our treasury. We believe this provides a nice ambiance to the lounge and main game room. To facilitate changing exhibits, a new hanging system for gallery work has been installed. This eliminates the need to repeatedly put holes in the walls.
Mary Platter-Rieger currently oversees the scheduling and the Sunday morning changeover of artwork. Please contact her if you have artwork you would like to show or know an artist who would like to have a show.
